Khajuraho

About a 175 kilometers away from Jhansi lies a group of monuments of great importance in Hinduism and Jainism. Known by the name of Khajuraho group of monuments, these are counted amongst the UNESCO World Heritage sites. The group was erected somewhere between 950 A.D. to 1050 A.D. by the Chandela dynasty. A tourist attraction of its kind, Khajuraho group is known for its erotic sculptures and nagara-style architectural symbolism.

Divided in 3 parts, the eastern, southern and the western group, where in the western group of temples, Mahadev temple is the most popular, for its massive structure and artistic sculptural work. While it is believed that this group of temples is famous for the erotic sculptures, but in reality, such sculptures account to only 15% of all the images.

Erected from sandstones with granite foundations, the architecture is itself a marvel, as the structures are mostly held by gravity, with mortise and tenon joints. What makes this place a perfect tourist spot is the art of precision carvings, where every strands of hair, jewellery and manicured nails is presented in the detailed manner. Themes of Prabodhacandrodaya, Kavyamimansaand Viddhasalabhanjika are expressed through carved sculptures in Khajuraho temples. The Khajuraho has sculptures dedicated to the Lord Vishnu, including, the Vyalas, which are hybrid imaginary animals with lion’s body, and are found in other Indian temples.

Itinerary

  • The guests are welcomed at the Special General Aviation Lounge of Terminal 1D – Departure Terminal, on the ground floor.
  • On arrival, they are made comfortable with the hospitable staff and served with hot and cold beverages. The lounge offers plush sofa seating, reading material, satellite television, recliners and massage chairs.
  • While enjoying the comfort and refreshments, the boarding passes are provided.
  • When ready, the guests are escorted by our well-trained airport service team member towards hassle-free security check.
  • Sailing through the boarding gate, the guests will be taken to their designated luxury cars for on-ground transfers to their chartered aircraft.
  • The guests are given a red carpet welcome by the crew members at the step ladder of the aircraft.
  • When on-board, the guests are served with a welcome drink, followed by the selection of refreshments.
  • On arrival to the destination, guests are escorted to the departure gate and designated executive assists in seating the guests in their lined-up vehicles.
